“Jim was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) as a UH-60 pilot.  The 160th is a special operations unit of the United States Army that provides helicopter aviation support for Special Operations Forces. The 160th SOAR are also known as the Night Stalkers and their motto is Night Stalkers Don’t Quit.  The 160th SOAR consists of the Army’s best-qualified aviators and support soldiers and its missions have included attack, assault, and reconnaissance, and are usually conducted at night, at high speeds, low altitudes, and on short notice.”
